These are the songs and poems we have been working on for the last few weeks.
Word of the week - Play (to the tune of Ten Little Indians)
P-l-a-y spells play
P-l-a-y spells play
P-l-a-y spells play
I like to play, don't you?
Poem for Play
Come and play with me today
We can play with blocks.
We can play with clay.
Come and play
and stay all day!
Word of the week - Love (to the tune of Frere Jacques)
L-o-v-e, L-o-v-e
that spells love
that spells love
put them all together
put them all together
love, love, love
'I love' poem
I love sunshine
I love snow
I love red leaves when they blow
I love cookies
I love cake
I love waffles when I wake
I love cats
I love puppies
I love clowns in funny hats
I love hockey
I love trains
I love sleeping when it rains
I love stories at bedtime
I love poems when they rhyme
Word of the week - Little (to the tune of Camptown Races)
L-i-t-t-l-e, little, little
L-i-t-t-l-e is how we spell little
I have a little cat (meow)
She likes to sing like that (meow)
L-i-t-t-l-e is how we spell little
Ten Little Snowmen
One little, Two little, Three little snowmen
Four little, Five little, Six little snowmen
Seven little, Eight little, Nine little snowmen
Ten little snowmen learning how to read.
Mittens
I have three pair of mittens
One yellow, red and blue
so if I ever loose a pair I will still have two.
But it never works that way,
that's not the way it's done
I never seem to lose the pair
all I loose is one.
So at the end of winter
I have three mittens there,
One red, one blue, one yellow
but not a single pair.
