Wow! We are working hard. Over the last little bit we have been doing a lot on patterning. We have learned about repeating patterns, we have learned about growing patterns and shrinking patterns. The kids have really taken to this concept and love to show off their work. In one instance we were learning about shrinking patterns by singing "5 green and speckled frogs" and the kids took it upon themselves to make up some number stories. They started drawing pictures of the frogs on the logs and the ones in the water and we turned it into a math problem. You should see some of the work these little ones are capable of.
In language we continuing on with our exploration of letters, sounds and words. We are starting to look into hibernation and we are going to be reading up on all sorts of animals and how they get ready for winter.
Upcoming news...
We are working hard on our Christmas songs. We will be having a Christmas Concert on Dec 18 at 1:45pm. The concert will be followed by crafts in the classroom, don't forget to mark your calendars.
We are looking for help, in the month of December we will be inviting Moms and/or Dads into the classroom to do a craft with the class. If you wish to participate please contact me with a few possible days you would be available. As always little siblings are welcome to come to class with you. You will need to provide all the supplies for the craft for each student (We have 28 kids in the class). To make things easier, please make sure the prep work is done ahead of time. Meaning, if you need to cut something out please do it at home. It might help in all the items for your craft are in individual bags for each child. Please let me know if you wish to come in.
Now that the winter wet weather is upon us, the children often need an extra pair or two of mittens and socks. Kindly ensure your child has a complete change of clothing at school, especially once wet/soiled clothing go home.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Check out our photo gallery for pictures. I promise they are really there this time!!
